Residence at Atlantis The Royal

In this apartment the sea comes first, so the interior does not compete with it. The palette runs from sand to charcoal, the curtains are the colour of the evening sky, and the brightest object in the living room is a looping line of light above the sofa.

The wall behind the sofa is one piece of joinery: black open shelving built around a panel of split-face stone with a single alabaster sconce. The shelves are lit from inside, so in the evening the wall glows and the ceiling lights can stay off.

In the bedroom the headboard wall is finished in combed plaster that catches the side light. The bedside table is a walnut box resting on a block of veined marble. The dressing room is fitted floor to ceiling in the same walnut, with a make-up table under a vertical light line.

Every window seat faces the water: a boucle armchair with a reading lamp inside, a woven lounge chair on the balcony outside.
