Two kinds of towers

JLT has towers from the first years of the district and towers completed much more recently. In the older ones a renovation usually starts behind the finishes: new plumbing and wiring, new air-conditioning grilles and controls, new waterproofing in the bathrooms. In the newer ones the services are sound, and the work is about layout, storage and finishes.

Making a small apartment work

• Light walls with one strong material as the accent
• Mirrors and lighting planned together, so the room reads larger

Our apartment in Me Do Re shows the approach: a white envelope, deep green marble as the only loud material, and joinery that hides everything else.

Towers, clusters and DMCC

JLT is a DMCC free zone community. Its towers stand in lettered clusters around the lakes, and offices and homes often share a cluster. Each tower has its own management and its own rules for contractors. We obtain the building's NOC and, where the scope requires it, DMCC approval, keep to the working hours and lift bookings, and keep the common areas protected and clean.
