Where the sea-blue apartment upstairs looks outwards, this one looks inwards. The colours are those of a library: walnut, tobacco, brass, off-white and a few drops of ink blue.
The living room is built around an open shelving wall in walnut with mirrored backs in some of the cells, so the room keeps appearing in fragments between the books and ceramics. Over the sofa hangs an arc chandelier with four brass globes. The TV wall is fluted stone-coloured panelling with a linear air-conditioning slot hidden in the ceiling line above it.
The dining room has a dark oval table for eight, moulded walnut chairs and a slatted walnut door that disappears into the wall panelling. A pendant of two intersecting brass lines hangs over the table.
In the master bedroom, walnut veneer and marble with gold veining share the wall behind an upholstered headboard with a wave-shaped top. A ring chandelier in walnut and brass repeats the curve of the rug. The guest bedroom is calmer: a band of walnut, half of it slatted, above a taupe leather bed.
